First bios OK, second BIOS Wrong

Hello,

I've just installed my X3 en flashed the first 1Mb bank with the 1957 bios, so far no problem, everything works.

Now I downloaded the evolution M8 bios for the V1.6 and flashed it on the second bank (switchpanel off,on,off,off), flash went OK, but after the reboot I want to start it, my xbox turns on and off and all LEDS are flashing, when I put the switch back to position 1 (on,on,off,off) and it works fine again.

what could be the problem ?

I searched throught the forum, but didn't find a answer !

Help me !

The M8 BIOS is 256kb...not 1mb. You can't boot to a second 1mb bank if it's not in use

You have the 1mb X3 BIOS on the first 4 banks - 256kb each. So if you throw another 256k BIOS on ... it will be on bank 5 ... try on on off on. I do this with an X2 BIOS on bank 5

why is anyone even touching switches once they have X3 bios installed ????

once you have X3CL you never need touch switches ever again for bios flashing or bios selection

Good point executer, I have the 1957 bios installed on the first bank(1-4). If I want to flash two more 256k bios to banks 5 & 6 and then choose to boot to them how do I go back to the 1957 1024k bios without using the switches?

Ok, I'm a rookie in this stuff, what is X3CL ?

I thought I put the 256 bios in the second 1 MB bank, I thought size doesn't matter :lol: but again it does.

So I must search how I must config the dipswitches......

water cooling build

Hello all i am in the process of building a water cooled sytem.

I have the lilan lil case and purchased all the cooling stuff.

My problem is i have mounted the radiator on to the case but i have found that the radiator is slightly to big and i cant fit the av conection into the board.

Its a none hdmi model. Its the plastic bit on the side were you flick from tv/hdtv it sticks out to much and cant fit it in.

Insteaed of getting a slightly smaller radiator does anyone know of a simple connector i could get that might get me around this problem?

there are many 3rd party cables that do not feature the optical nor even a hd to tv option. Try to find on of those.

You can also remove the plastic casing around the plug. My friend had to do this to use the RCA audio from his component cables with an HDMI cord so he didn't have to shell out $50 for the MS HDMI package.

Right, or he could've used the stuff he already had and paid $0, which he did. Electronics don't have to be pretty, they just have to work.

ok thanks for all the info guys i have removed the plastice housing and it now fits a treat.

it does look a bit ugly but it works lol.

i will post an new thread with a detailed build when im all done.

also hoping to get this in micro mart (pc mag)
