I installed a x3 with the 1.6 rebuild PCB. When i turn on the xbox I get 2 blue lights on the chip and one either green or red light. But It still only boots up to the default screen to change the time. What can i do to fix this?

try tapping the power button and not pressing it.

It's quite sensitive between switching x3 enabled/disabled

The green, red and grey wires i know the grey wire is for the d0 but i did not connect that wire because I connected the 1.6 rebuild pcb to where the grey wire was supposed to go. Did i do that wrong?

look at lpc rebuild pcb to the Top LHS there is a big pad labelled D0 above the white X
you need grey wire attached here.

also check soldering!
the last one I modded (1.6-x3) was acting like there was no x3 in da box
(no light on the external switch)
it turned out to be a bad soldering on the pin header

put your soldering iron in a 90 degree angel to the motherboard and againt the pins so there is maximum heat transfer to the pins and the
copper foil

Ok got it thanks. I thought the grey wire was for something

Now i only get one blue light on the chip and the panel does not turn on. I must have screwed something up

still boots to original screen

whats missing 3.3V

check 9 & 15 especially 15 clean it out and resolder...let the solder run good into the hole... this is the 3.3V source pin.
The track is on the component side so needs a good solder joint to get it.

read sb122606's post !!!

resolder, esp. pin 15: desolder clean it well and solder again
iron-tip on a 90 degree angle on the board parallel to the pin
(only use 15W iron)

the power panel probably has crossed solder points on the back.
