been out of the loop for way to LONG, lol
getting a slim model today, the earlier ones not the one that looks like a book now.

so my question is which is better? and requires less hardware? been flashing/repairing fats for a long time.
i understand the difference between the 2. dvd flash is just for dvds, and RGH is for custom dash and able to use a external/internal hardrive for homebrew. i dont have a lot of cash right now. at the moment all i have is a xecuter CK pro and of course a 6421 card.
from what i read basically all boards(older models) are supported.
guess just looking for what hardware is involved,
thanX in advance

EDIT... mu solder skills are pretty crappy but if only a couple i can do it.(solder-less would be nice too)

there are a few different dvd drives models in the slim consoles.. one can be unlocked quite easily with very little soldering involved - one can be unlocked by drilling a hole in the IC..

you can also replace the dvd drive PCB with a TX unlocked version.. doing the PCB method will require RGH on some slim models as dumping the dvd key is not possible any other way

slim drives will not work with VIA cards (ppl have gotten it to work but too much work.. youtube) so you'll need X360USB pro v1/2

for the RGH, you'll need a way to read the nand, you'll need the glitch chip and your soldering skills has to be moderate at the very least

you may be able to find CR3 ultimate bundle online which includes the nand reader, glitch chip and quick solder board.. you may also need to get a post fix adapter separately as some slim models require it

hope that helps :)

dam gina. lol
dam that sucks! really was looking forward to doing it myself. by the look of it it would be alot cheaper to just buy one already modded.
appreciate the help guys!
