Ok hello guys this is my first time attempting to flash a benq drive. I've never flashed a drive for xbox but have flashed bios's and such. My main question is? with so many firmwares for the benq how do you know which one to use. I do have the drive that is keyed with the xbox so will I be able to copy that firmware and transfer it or should I try to find one of the the Internet. The reason I'm doing this flash is because the drive in the xbox will only read movies first time but if I eject 5 or 6 times the game willwork but most of the time after about 5 or 10 min the game fails probably due to failed loads from the drive. Next question if the firmware fails to load on the new drive and I test it will there be a problem with the unit being banned? If you guys can direct me in the right direction that will be great. I'm not gonna lie every time I try to flash something it never goes right the first time and is always a pain

Quick note I have replaced the laser did a pot test and so on I've tried everything to get the drive to work just so you know if you have any more suggestions I will gladly test them

Another note I have the via chip set as well as nvidia I'm waiting on the 360 USB thing you guys sell

So did some more searching and just wanted to note that I want the stock firmware loaded so that this unit can be resold as working

HI
Benq by far the easiest drive to unlock flash with usb pro just click Benq unlock button in JF, then click read, there are only two stock firmware these being
BenQ_Pre_13141
BenQ_Post_13141, and after you read drive it prompts for latest lt firmware

dump the firmware from the original drive. use it as the source for writing the firmware to the new drive. then choose the firmware based on what dash you're on (most likely post 13141) and if you want stock fw or lt +) you can easily find which one based on that if you use the search button.

The reason I'm doing this flash is because the drive in the xbox will only read movies first time but if I eject 5 or 6 times the game willwork but most of the time after about 5 or 10 min the game fails probably due to failed loads from the drive.

Id just replace the entire drive. Benq's are a dime a dozen these days!

You'll most likely know if it fails in jungleflasher. Once all the banks are flashed JF will then read and verify all to make sure the flash was successful. Kinda hard to mess up a benq they are the easiest drives to flash! Just follow the tutorials! there is a very good one available on the forums.

If you guys can direct me in the right direction that will be great.

Onward.

I'm not gonna lie every time I try to flash something it never goes right the first time and is always a pain

Sounds like a personal problem! lol

Quick note I have replaced the laser did a pot test and so on I've tried everything to get the drive to work just so you know if you have any more suggestions I will gladly test them

like i said, dime a dozen

Another note I have the via chip set as well as nvidia I'm waiting on the 360 USB thing you guys sell

incredibly easy with the x360usb pro

So did some more searching and just wanted to note that I want the stock firmware loaded so that this unit can be resold as working
it will work just fine with lt + as well.
