How's this for a noob install?
http://db.tt/0FQ88ufG

Have purchased very good temp controlled soldering iron, and tip cleaning braid. Watched plenty of soldering videos and have understood how to, including how to preserve tip life. Must have at least took me 2 months to take the balls to solder on to my 299,- costing console. Of course firstly took an old motherboard and practiced some on.

All solder points are properly connected and each point neatly flowed into each other.

The heat was just high enough to allow solder to melt, yet still the pad on the Slim QSB tore off (@ R1). But it works this way.

I get intermittent boot times. Ranging from 1 glitch attempt, to 30. But it doesn't take more then 2 minutes to boot, so I'm not bothered.

I might not know much about the mod but i do know alot about soldering!

I have a HAKKO 936 after my last broke and i use it at a temp between 375 deg c (700 deg f) and 425 to do most of my soldering but the temperature really depends on a each application dont use a temp for your 1 board as a rule of thumb.

Some are very nice yet some are very poor for fixed point although as above ive seen far worse people (on this forum) that think owning a 25w soldering iron, solder and some solder paste is enough with no previous exp.

But I like how you have done your research first and use nice equipment to get what most people would call good to great soldering =D

Keep it up
