I am attempting to mod my first xbox, i have read guide after guide before I start. However after opening my xbox (1.6), on the lpc there are around 5 or 6 holes filled with solder and the rest are empty. Do I have to remove the solder from these holes before beginning or is there a way around. I am using an xecutor 2.6ce.
Thanks

how strange, i have never seen a 1.6 that had the LPC solder holes filled. If you plan to do a pin header installer then yes the solder holes will need to be clear otherwise you will not be able to insert the pin header.

out of interest have you got a pictures of this?

Here are photos that I have taken. Sorry about the brightness, my camera has a broken flash. Whilst examing the board compared to the guides I can't seem to find the D0 solder point. A lot of guides recommend a wires only install, as opposed to pin header on the 1.6, what is the easiest for a novice??

That's odd. Just go with a wire install. That will be easier than removing that solder.

Looks like a 1.0 that someone started to take the solder out of.

I was wondering if that was the case, but he said it was a 1.6. Are you sure it really is a 1.6?

Go with a wire install. It will be easier than removing that solder to do a pinheader.
