First time Modding xbox 360 ms 25 samsung drive!!!

hi guys im new here and i have few questions to the experianced modders , flashers...i hve red everything about compatitible issues, new flashers topics,tutorials en file info's

yet i want to knowfew things

i have a medion PC 8800 with 4 S ata ports
1 Slave
2 Master A seagate s-ata 250 gig is \connected on this
3 Slave
4 Master

mine info about serial ata is showing in IDE section ...SCSI section is empty

In my ms info or BIOS i cant find any RAID options..

i red somewhere in a another forum , they said if you saw ure info about ure chipset / sata ports on IDE and not on SCSI ....ure xbox 360 will not work ..???

you guys have a compatitible list.....it Sez:

u can find in SCSI aswell in IDE, remember ure lookin for sata , Raid in somecases Ultra ata..ect ect

question is does it work even if u can read the info on ide rather than scsi?

for ms 25 samsung i must choose a firmware from extreme52 ...which one? there some many bin files...ms25 a b c ?xtrem a b c?

i dont have a 3,5 inch flopdisk drive on pc...should i buy one ,, or can i do like slax cd or ms dos boot cd, i have all the card readers on pc..

and last question is which sata port should i plug the xbox 360?

Hoi koud jongen,

If it says that it is compatible in the tutorial then it must be ok. The Xtreme bootmaker will create a custom hexedited mtkflash for you.

Don't worry about the raid issue - if you can't find any options for it, it probably wont be a problem.

Read the xtreme 5.2 readme, it explains the difference between a/b/c/d - they relate to different speed behaviour, where you may trade off reliability with a broader range of media with faster load times and noisier operation. Your choice. Personally, I use 4.2b, seeing little to entice me to upgrade to 5.2... It seems rock solid so far.

You will need to select one though that ends with ms25 (or if you choose 4.2, spoof a MS25 with the firmware toolbox), in order to avoid E66 error on Live update.

Try using a USB flash drive instead of floppy. Slax will not work for Samsungs.

Plug the 360 dvd drive into the first sata port. Disconnect all other drives (hard disk and DVD/CD) - just ensure you enabled Boke's patch in Xtreme boot maker.

for the Explanation..i have 2 xbox 360 one mine Samsung...the other one is used by the brothers of mine o core Hitachi...i bought a memory Stick USB Micro Vault from sony 256 mb and 2 Sata cards just to make sure...one is for samsun 6421A sata seriel and for hitachi ...a SIL SATA sata card...and a dubble bracket sata ports... so i can plug the sata cables from cards to bracket...so i dont have to open my pc everytime...


my question is ...Do i still need to unplug all Drives , Harddisk, DVD R RW drives... even if i use this specialised cards for flashing...i know i have to use slax for hitachi but ..do i still need to open my pc unplug my drives , ide , sata..drives...en is it save to use sata cables to bracket sata ports? do i have to plug them straight from the card...or can i use from de bracket?

Bokes patch is for ms28..can it be used for other drives ms25. for example....?

wich firmware is the stable one to flash hitachi>?

It is recommended to unplug your other drives so you don't accidentally dump the firmware from them or flash them. You could try disabling them in your PC BIOS instead, but I'm not sure how well it will work.

Using your SATA bracket should be ok.

You can use Boke's patch and the "MS28 bad flash compatibility" when flashing MS25 drives as well. In fact, I would recommend it. That's what I use.

The firmware for the Hitachi depends on what version it is. If it is a ROM version of 46, 47, or 59 then use Maximus-GaryOPA Xtreme 2.3 Revision 2. If it is a ROM version of 0078FK, use Maximus 360 Firmware Toolbox v3.0.

it helped a lot sind im studying for a week now...last question do...i ll get about drives...but my hard disk where i boot windows from...must i unplug this hard drive also>? ???..disable from bios!!!! did anyone tried this before???? i wonder...

and i bought a st 108 card for my hitachi drive ...on the chip u can read ...

i think i dont have raid on my motherboard sinds i could not find any options on my bios config....do i need to disable raid on this card or on 6421 a for samsung...do they even have raid options...??? i plugged in but i didnt tryed yet....i installed them both on my motherboard... this is ok right??? both cards on same motherboard?

i bought from someone already flashed toshiba 47 d wit saved origi.bin....i installed but only movies are working...

what must i do to use this drive with my xbox 360...and i had some doubts about flashing ...can mods or some one give me more advice???
