Not to rip on you Mitpat, but has anybody noticed that this topic is entitled "First X3" when it's not an X3 at all.
He he fooled by his own eyes (probably the alcohol), though now he mentions it look at this:

the original xecuter, it looks so basic and also looks as if you had to screw it down

Think about the scale that photo is at.... That is NOT an IDE connector.... it would be way too small... it's ajust a small connector that looks like an IDE plug..... Wait..... that silver thing next to the IDE thing looks like a older Macintosh!!! Were they trying to put a Mac on the X3???!!!!! LOL..... sure...
er no its and ide connector, perhap they were going to link the x3 directly with the hard drive :?

It could have been a downsized ide port, but why is it directly linked with the other white conn?
This is a prototype. What do you do with prototypes? Test things. What sort of things - software as much as hardware.

I'd guess that that connector is actually for a prgramming cable to upload new code to the chip while it was in development.

Re: Hitachi LT+ question

the fw works - tho what ver jf did you use? 178 (182) had a bug - it autoloaded wrong fw.
try using jf 178 (183) in downloads section.
also what game/disk type did you use?
