Ok, here’s my story...

I had my bios working with 1957_REPACK. Since the new X3_1959 came out, I decided to update them... so i put the dip switches 1/2 ON 3/4/5 OFF and held the two buttons down to enter the backup flash.

Once I was there I selected the HTTP flashing. Got my IP (192.168.0.4) and choose my X3_1959 from the directory.

Then i hit Upload and Flash. I looked at the TV and noticed it was working just fine.... until it got to the green bar and it stopped about 15% (out of 100). I waited a few minutes and still nothing was happening...

So i turned the Xbox off. And I again booted the backup flash. I decided to try the 1957_REPACK bios again just to make sure everything was working. I choose the bios and hit the Upload and Flash button.....

Unknown Flash! Halting.

I turned the Xbox off again.... Again.... rebooted and trying the X3_1959 again....

Unknown Flash! Halting.

So I tried to turn the dip switches back to what I had when I had the bios on that worked... Xbox reboots 3 times....

I hold down the power button to disable the mod... original bios load and Xbox dashboard loads just fine.

I made sure the flash protection both on the chip and switch was off.

I also tried flashing by CDR. It says...

Found BiosUpdate: bios.Bin (1024k)
Unknown Flash! Halting.

So does anyone have any other ideas on what I can do? Strange that this happened but it keeps telling me I have an Unknown Flash no matter what bios I try to upload.

Thanks for your time,
David

Re: Flashing trouble with X3_1959

UPDATE:

After messing around with the flash protect a little more on the chip itself... i have confirmed that it seemed be have a loose connection when switching back and forth from on to off...

I switched it off and on... off and on...etc etc a few times and then make sure it was pressed all the way in the on possession.

Tryed flashing it again and this time it did not freeze up while flashing... Im now looking at the X#_1959 LIVE screen :D
