there is no permanant fix

You can try the above methods and you can if done correctly get good results but expect it to die again at some point.

I have done 8 units all but 2 are still going

Different errors different method, I fix one, still working, if you're buying off Ebay I suggest you to be careful because not all the broken 360 selling on Ebay can be fix.

I have an 360 and I was getting a error 0102 before I reworked the board and now I'm getting an error 0011.
It's been about 2 hours sence the rework and I still get 0011.

Is there a way to fix the error or will it go away over time?
The unit feels cold to the touch?
Any help would be great...

Hi,

I had the same problem but recently I was able to fix it with the help of a great tech support site. They have step by step information with photos.

Here is the page for the 3 red lights Solution

good luck

How about error code 0020? Different from 0102, the three red lights appear right after the power button is pressed.

Don't you guys ever visit the xbox scene forums, apparently over on their site they have found that the majority of the 3 red light errors are attributed to a design flaw in the clamps that hold down the heat sinks and the motherboard. This probably won't work for every 3 red light error but they do have like a 90% success rate on their forum and it all seems to make sense. I could explain further but I'd rather just post the link...

There are lots of threads that discuss this so look through and you should be able to find everything you need.

3 red lights of dead is FIXED!!!

OK WHAT I DID was pretty simple,i didnt take out the heat sink or others part like the said in the video.i only took out the dvd rom.first i cleaned the dust from the fans and the motherboard using a hoover.and heres comes the funny part,in the video they used the hot air gun to warm the different parts but what about the people who dont have a hot air gun?so what i did i borowed my sisters hair dryer  obviously it cant produce the same heat as a hot air gun but it did the trick :) so i just followed the video and voila i cooled down the xbox for 5 minutes after that i opened and it worked! :D and ive been using it for 2 days and still no errors 8) notice behind the xbox is a steel plate and i didnt have to take it out:)

it does not matter what option you use there is no permanant fix but I suppose there is no harm in trying aslong as you know what you are doing and are careful

Hey, my xbox gets really hot to the touch, and i'm not sure what it will happend, i'm kind of scared cuase of the three red light problem, i kind of also smell stanium(something weird) or something like that comming of the fans of the xbox,is that normal? i have two extra coolers in the right part of the xbox (looking at front) which give more air since it's not in a big space.
If you lift up the xbox after playing the surface where it was over it it's pretty hot, i don't know if this is normal, can anyone confirm based on their experience? Thank you.Ignacio
