ok i installed my x3 chip, when i turned it on it worked, got the blue screen i did a network flash with evox v2.4.bin and now it frags every time i turn it on, i can turn it on by pushing both buttons to get 256k backup but thats it, i cant even use the xbox with the mod chip off, it gives me a service needed screen, it really pisses me off cause i cant play halo 2 now, PLEASE HELP!!!!!! everywhere i look says that any frag problem is a soldering problem but i had someone who solders sh*t for a living do it and i double checked it so i dont think thats it, i realize i probably used the wrong bin or bank or something i just need to know how to fix it, can i use a boot cd or something?

I had a problem similar, after install the flash screen came up but after flashing it FRAGGED. it was due to using the wrong bios. Make sure you use the correct version of X3 1957. Start up in back up mode and you should be able to flashusing the web browser feature. the noob guide helped me. Just a thought hope it helped.
i went to the back up to flash evox m8, my cousin uses it it still wont work by itself(mod chip off), i had it on bank 1234[on on off off] and it still frags, when i put it on bank 1[on on on on] it will boot up with the evox symbol at the top left but it goes to the regular ms dashboard, what do i do next
Lite-on 83850c Possibly Dead
I have a 83850c drive however when I was updating to f/w 1.61 my computer froze so I think its messed up. Don't know if its fixable. Am I able to replace with any Lite-On drive? I have the key and all the info from my other drive.

As long as you have the key from the lite-on drive then you havent buggered your drive it will just be locked as ure PC froze during the flashing process..

yea just send the erase again and should be good. unless your pc is locking up cause u have a via chipset and havent removed the drivers, in which case it will just freeze again. in which case use the link above

awesome guys! got it working with the iextreme 1.5 DOS flash with a USB key. I have a 83850c but i think I updated it with 1.61 838v2 instead of 838. thanks for the help!
