I have an X3 in my v1.1 that i have been using for about a month now, last week when i turned on my xbox the default X3 flash screen came on. I tried to reflash the chip again with the 3294 bios through the network, but the progress bar stops halfway through flashing. After some head scratching i tried a couple more times, and now my xbox gets an IP but will not hold it. If i try to ping the xbox, it will ping for about 30 seconds then timeout. Im completely lost for ideas, ive tried restarting my computer and router but still nothing is working. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The original problem may have been the eject button sticking in so that when you pressed the power on button it went into the backup bios with the x3 logo on the front purple in colour.
Make sure you have the switches on the front set correctly. IE: on,on,off, off OR off,on,off, off for a 1mb bios.
You could also try to flash from a disc.

the light was never purple, it always went to the blue light and to the flashing screen, i have to do the purple light boot to get at the screen now, because there is a partail flash on that bank, i havent touched the switches at all since i got the chip (except for the lock)

Have you recently installed anything on your pc such as norton internet security or some other type of firewall?
I would try to flash with a disc to see if it works.
If it does then it's a network problem and if it doesn't then it may be a hardware issue, I would then check the soldering on the lpc pinheader and probably retouch all of them with the iron anyway.
Was the xbox moved somewhere else? maybe the chip is dislodged.
Also when you first installed and flashed the chip did you flash both banks or just the one? If you only flashed the one bank then the other should still contain flashbios. If you flashed both banks and neither boot to x3cl then you have a hardware problem.

1.No new software on the pc
2.My drive wont read burned cds or dvds, so i cant flash by disc.
3/4.Xbox hasnt been moved, i opened the xbox to check the connections up top, but i havent checked on the bottom side of the motherboard yet
5.When i started having the problems, i switched banks and tried to flash the other, so there is a partial bios on there aswell

I don't understand why it went to the flashbios screen after it has already been flashed with a bios. It seems as if it didn't find a bios on the first bank and looked to the second bank where it found flashbios v3.03 which it loaded.
The only suggestion I can think of is that the switch bank itself may be faulty or it's maybe a soldering issue.
Try unpluging the switch bank from the x3 itself ( to eliminate the wiring as well ) and booting into the backup bios, then try to flash with 3294 as before which will automatically go into 1234 because the switch bank is unplugged.
If this doesn't work then I would definately look at the soldering on the lpc especially pins 13 and 14 as these are only used after flashing by x3cl and not needed to boot flashbios.

I think that the d0 point will be okay because if this was bad then it would only boot to the m$ bios. The fact that he can boot to flashbios indicates the d0 point is grounding properly.

ok, so i resoldered all the connections, top and bottom, made sure all the connectors were good and tight, and it booted up perfectly to the 3294. Im guessing that the second half of the flash process is a verify, as the bios is there and works perfecltly.

Thanks for all teh help everyone
