flash appears install, but no dashboard appears

Why have you locked my post?

Your information is very poor, I recieved the chip with no instructions what so ever and am just trying to progress the install along, I have explained that I have read the tutorials, and am asking what I should be expecting to see( ie the x3 rox box on the screen, which is in a tutorial I do not see this) , I know that you have likely chipped 100's of xbox's before and its easy to you but please spare a thought for us, we are buying a product from yourselves and are asking for a little help, I know it might be frustrating but pointing someone in the right direction is a great help and more happy customers equal better word of mouth and more sales so please don't disregard posts like this asking you experts for a little help.

I am installing the x3 1959 bios, as a bios bin files from a cd/rw


Dear All,

I have been following the tutorials and have flashed the bios using a cd/rw and all appeared well, the disk was recognised and the bios installed with the green indicator bar showing.

Once the xbox is rebooted according to the tutorials I should get a different screen with the microsoft X and xecuter roxs my box, unfortunately is goes back to the screens showing me the bios version number and the options to install the bios I have reloaded it several times to no avail. Xbox is version 1.0 and bios is the 3.0.3.

Any help would be grateful.

I locked your post because you provided insufficient information to assist you.

If you had PC support and sent a problem report along the lines of what you originally wrote, then it would get discarded.

Support can be offered, but you have to provide as much information as possible.

You didn't mention what BIOS you were using, what banks you'd tried to boot from, etc....

Always provide as much information as possible, with exact error codes and messages etc.

I work in PC Support but I would ask what I am thinking not assume the person will understand if I discard their call th havnt provide enough info. Remember like I said you are the experts you know what you want to know, in this case I am a dumb arse user!,

so to answer your questions

Xbox is v1.0
Bios is version 3.03
1959 is the x3 i am trying to load
switchs on,on,off,off,off

As before when flashing the bios the green bar comes accross but after reboot the bios screen just appears again.

It's like anything - we need to know exactly what you're doing in order to help. My post in my sig gives you an idea of what sort of things we need to know.

Where did you download the X3 1959 BIOS from? What's the filename called you downloaded?

I downloaded the file from xbins on mirc and it is called x3_1959.bin,

I changed the filename to bios.bin and then flash to the xbox.

Did you at any time download FlashBIOS 3.0.3 and burn onto a CD? If so are you 100% sure you haven't got the files mixed up?

Xecuter put together a prepacked boot disk.

Follow the instructions to the letter and let me know how you get on.

Remember, try BOTH 1MB banks afterwards..

good news redone it all again, downloaded new files reburned to disk, and reflashed and it all came up correctly.

hitachi 47 wont read games

Not sure why. I took it apart and cleaned the drive also. Just says Open Tray.I thought I flashed it right. Any ideas?

Thanks but after reading that tutorial it it says I need a multimeter and a micro electronic screwdriver that I don't have. Also says this is for when disc sometime don't read and sometimes do but for me nothing will read at all.
This is a friend of mines xbox. He said the games did work before I did the mod. So maybe it has to do with the way I modded it?
what should I do? re-mod it?
