I have a 1.6b and installed a x3. The chip came w/ Flash Bios 3.0.0 and I am unable to flash 3.0.3. Do I need a new mod? Iv'e checked all soldering and it is perfect, but I get nothing but frag. I have been reading all the forum post and have proper switch settings. I have also tried to flash 1959 but only to find more frag.

Bootup to the backup flashbios and see what version of flashbios in there.
You may also want to check the other banks as well. Most
retailers put 3.0.3 on one of the banks.

Cant be a a 1.6B if the 3.0.0 FLASH BIOS screen came up dude ....
1> Boot to the Backup.
2> Put switches in on,on,off,off position.
3> Flash the chip with the 1959_1.6PLUS BIOS
4> Leave the switches ALONE.
5> Reboot and enjoy !

Yes it's my tv. (boohoo) Thanks for the help but it didn't work frag frag frag frag. And I am farely certain it is a 1.6b. The flash bios is the bios I got in the X3 chip. Not the bios on the box isn't it? Please let me know if you have any other iderrrrsss.

No, I THINK we're getting crossed wires here .... (NO pun intended!)
If you got the 3.0.0 FLASH BIOS screen to come up on the Xbox, then you do NOT have a 1.6B version as this will NOT work on it !!!!
Also if you GET to the FLASH bios screen ... job DONE .... flash it with the 1959_1.6PLUS.BIN and get in there!!!
If I've missed the point, please tell me !!!??

Ok, ,I think I'm with you. I have flash bios 3.0.0 that works there for I have a vs.1.6, not b vs. (thank you) And I should be able to flash to 1959_1.6PLUS. Maybe the problem is the vs. of 1959 I got from xbins is labled 1959. not 1959_1.6plus. thats the only one I could find.I would apprieciate it if you had some time to get involved to email me a copy of some stuff. It's not - you have to get the file that reads 1959.RAR - then unzip this after download. 1959_1.6PLUS is inside this file.

jonrees69: Your sig picture is accurate in this case. I remember when I used to work on the internet helpdesk of the local Telco, we'd also add labels to trouble logs like an id - 10t error (or ID10T if you prefer) or PEBKAC (Problem exists between keyboard and chair) It never fails to amaze me how many people just can't understand the whole bios flashing thing.

Well I got it figured out. Job well done guys. The last part of the puzzle was getting a win-rar reader. I never had the ability to unzipp .rar files so my disks I was making were wrong. Thank you every one for your help. The idiot wins one. Xecuter now Rox my Box

Dont worry, this actually happens a lot!! It's I put RAR and BIN and UNZIP in big letters and why I mention these little details, coz not everyone realizes instantly !
I had a guy look for about a week he reckoned for the PLUS BIOS - couldnt find it until i said try the RAR file .... he was amazed !
