Im a noob when it comes to all of this. My friend came over and did my Bios flashing for me. He thought the chip was corrupt or somthing. We later found out that the eject button turned the xbox on with the chip on. He flashed my chip a ton of times. untill the chip finily wouldent take any flashes -- it would freez. It works fine now but it says unknown bios on my dashbord. Because he flased it alot of times will this effect the chip? Will i ever beable to upgrade it again?

if you are using Evox dashboard, Evox dash has not supported the new X3 bios as yet so it says unknown. It's normal. Not to worry about as long your console is working properly.

To answer your other question, I think your chip is fine. There are two 1mb banks so you have nothing to worry about. One suggestion though, seems like your friend doesn't completely know what's he doing (LOL) so take some time and read the guides and do it yourself. It's not really that hard.

Check config file for Evox and you will see marking for "current" and some
kind of checksum, edit this as the other bioses and name it and the evox
will know your chip. I think this changes if you change bios version but
then you know how to do it :)
