Flash Bios screen locks up!

For some unknown reason I had to reload my Bios. When I went into the flash bios screen the system appears to freeze or lock up. It recognizes my HD, DVD etc, but I cannot get the controler to move the selection to choose how I would like to load the bios. I have tried MS controllers as well as aftermarket controllers thinking that it was a controller issue. Any insight as to what my problem might be or any suggestions as to how to get the bios onto the chip another way. Any help would be appreciated.

well to start any type of flash you need to be able to select one of the options.

Controller works now!

I was able to get the controller to work. I can now select "install bios from disk". The installe appears to go properly. I now turn on the system and get no video or audio. There is no frag and everything appears to be fine. I think I have read where others have had issues with no video. I will go back and read some prior posts. Just wanted to keep everyone updated. Any advice is always appreciated.

I got it fixed. It was pin 13 &/or 14. I just resoldered them and it worked great. Thanks for all the great posts.

I have sort of the same problem. I have v1.0 XBOX with the xecuter3 chip that came with the bios v3.0.0. I download a file callled flashbios v3.0.3 and i extracted the file flashbios_v303.bin and connected my laptop to the xbox via a crossover cable. The xecuter3 chip inside the xbox is set to off and the switched were set to on off off off when I flashed the bios. Now the XBOX turns on for 30sec and turns off with the eject button blinking an amber light. I have to uplug the power and plug it back in. I'm new at this and I don't now if I missed a step or I'm doing something wrong. I have 120gb drive that is empty with no apps. I need help especially about the bios.

celo28 you need to use the 1959 bio's not flashbio's boot to your back up bio's (power/eject) and set your switches to on,on,off, off, flash protection off and reflash.
