flash bios

ok iv been reading for the past week about everything. i got my chip today, tried to install it. at first i had a frag. then i checked all my soldering points fixed them and then it started flashing orange and green no video and no audio. long story short i messed up my xbox to find out 2 hours later it was the wrong bios. but i have a question how do i flash a bios if no video or no audio comes up. and i thought the bios the xecuter comes with should work enough to bring up a screen so i can flash it with my own

what r u trying to say when u say it was the wrong bios.

does this mean you had a cromwell version up ...flashed it (with the wrong bios )and then probs??

i have a 1.6 xbox. I read a forum on this site and it said when the chip is enabled and the eject button lights up orange and green with no audio or video it is probably the bios the chip came with. it also said to flash it with a diffrent bios. if there is no audio or video how do i flash it with the bios i have ????and where can i buy another pin header from like the one in this pic? and where can i buy a motherboard from?

Your chip has FlashBIOS 3.01 installed. You need 3.03 for it to work on your 1.6b. I had the same problem. Luckily, I have another xbox, which is a 1.6

first of all that pin header in the pic is the wrong one ...it should fill the complete LPC bus and have pins 4,6,& 16 removed for a 1.6 board.

If u have the full header then u could try booting either the backup bios (hit pwr and reset together) u should get a purple X
or try loading a differnet 1M bank..u did not say what your switches r set to.
try on,on,off,off,off Bank 1 and then off,on,off,off,off for Bank 2.
(note these r settings for the old style black switch panel..if u have the pro switch then its

Left to right
off,on,on,off,off Bank one
off.off,on,off,off Bank two

well i have the right pin header set it i the one you put the link to .i just put any picture there to see if anyone knew where to buy one... second i have the excuter 2.6 so i only have 3 switches bank, flash protect, on off

can someone help me. i am going to buy another xecuter2.6 chip pre flashed with the correct bios for the xbox 1.6 from modchip man. now when i get it and flash it with my own do i make one 1024kb bios for the whole chip or can i put two 512kb bios one in each bank

If you bought the chip recently it shoudl have both flashbios versions on it.
bank 1 has 3.0.1
bank 2 has 3.0.3

Normal behavior for incorrect flashbios is solid green for about 15 seconds then solid orange. not sure if this will help you or not.

When you flash the 2.6 you need to use a 512kb or 1mb image.
think of a 1mb image as two 512kb banks. the first 512kb is what will be in bank 1 and the second 512kb will be what goes into bank 2.

so basically you could do this:
4983.06(256kb) + 4983.06(256kb) + flashbios3.0.1(256kb) + flashbios3.0.1(256kb)
mod would boot 4983 when set to bank1 and flashbios3.0.1 when set to bank 2.
you can also just flash a 512kb image to it as well. keep in mind when you use flashbios to flash the 2.6 it always starts with bank1. so your 512kb flash will always go into bank1 regardless of the bank selector switch.
