Flash Controller :/

I've been trying for the past 2 days to get this to read my flacons nand. All I get is Flash controller is not found.

I tried with QSB's didn't work. And I cut the cables for those and did straight wire install, that didn't work either.

Then I wanted to try the pin headers, but I couldn't desolder all the holes (I got like 5 tops)

Then I cut the wires for the pin headers and tried doing straight wire, and still nothing.

Drivers are installed, red and yellow lights are on. PSU is plugged in and my soldering doesn't seem that bad except for one point.(yellow) I think it's a dull joint I cant heat the solder there its dificult to work with, but I got yellow to stay on.

looks like the yellow wire is bridged with another point

um J2B1 are on j2b1.9 (green) and j2b1.10 (blue) when they should be on j2b1.5 (green) & j2b1.6 (blue)

look at the below pic and compare it with yours yellow wire and all the ones on that header look fine but you have j2b1 header all wrong

*sigh* are the jtag qsbs necesesary. I tried taking them off cuz I got e79 and I think I messed it up.

And for smc wiring how do I update the smc. I saw things about going into xbr and changing the smc that way

if you are getting e-79 then you might have burned a trace on the MOBO or on the QSB

I looked at the smc thread and I plan on doing all that soon I just have one more question.

I attached 2 pics of my jtag qsb, I pulled them off not to long ago and i seemed to have taken the litten metal bits with it.

Can I still use this as is?
Or what I was thinking was attaching wires to the board where the other solder is.(but I don't know which spots to solder to for each wire)
And lastly could I just use wires on the xbox jtag portion since the red/yellow wires already have diodes on them?

You should have posted a picture of the board it self instead of the QSB as they are replaceable but you can't replace the motherboard.

Yes you can just use direct wires for the JTAG part but the yellow and red wires do not come with any diodes so you'll need to get these and solder them to the wires end. You can solder the JTAG points beneath the board if there's any trouble in soldering it on top, the AUDIO_CLAMP connection is always run below the board while for the OPEN_TRAY signal connection some run this on top and others run it from beneath, it's just a matter of personal preference.

looks like you burned the metal part of the qsb and if you decide to use the wire method you are going to need a jumper to bridge a connection

Are you sure the red and yellow don't have diodes? Because for the smc tutorials they refer to the part with the black end of those wired as the "diode" side.

Are they? I think I need to discet one of the kits I got, I've always assumed that the diodes/resistors are on the QSB it self!

Well try the wires on their own and see what happens then ...

the first alt smc jtag i did, i used the non-xenon wires out of the nand-x. worked perfect.

EDIT:

100% they work. if you look at the wires for the non-xenon, inside the heatshrink tubing theres a resistor/diode. ive never opened one up to check what it actually is but i think it may be a bat41 diode. thats a guess though.

Yea I just soldered the yellow to the aud_clamp. Now I'm just curious if I can still use the qsb in a different manner or should I just to direct wire
