Flash Freezing Problem

Ok, i installed the chip using the pin headers...an executer 3....made my DVD with the rom exactly as the tutorial said, and it looked like it started to work, then the yellow erase progress bar froze about 1/3 of the way through, and i let it sit for like 15min thinking it just takes a while

So then i tried a HTTP flash, and same exact error, so i thought maybe it was the bios or something, and i went and got 1957 instead of 1959 and had the same error.


I'm pretty good with a soldering iron and all connections look good to me, but if this is a symptom of a connection not being made or crossed, please tell me to check it over again.

Also, maybe i am mistaken on this, but i thought i could FTP into the X3? if thats suppose to be possible, i cant do that either.

Finally, i would assume there is a tutorial, but i cant seem to find it. I am looking for info on using the flash bios backup, and anything related to indepth detail of how the banks work. I'd like to know if there is someway to boot from a working bank, then flashing a bank that i screwed up

Or, if anyone knows how i can get an external programmer for it, thats just as good----can the 2.6 programmer be used?

hopefully u unrar'd the file before burning the cd

i dont think you HAVE to but, might need a dummy file on that cd also.

you can also try flashing by using Internet Explorer. Open IE and type in the IP and it should bring up a lil menu.

yup, i tried the http, i put about 700mb worth of dummy file on the dvd-r and of course i unrared the file


i did rename it to bios.bin too


i'd like to know if its possible to modify a 2.6 programmer to work with 3

How long would it take to get banned.

I have an old xbox that has firmware 1.4... it keeps red ringing , and the disc drive SUCKS.
its a samsung ms28, that someone else flashed for me so i dont really know how to upgrade it... ):

How long would it take to get banned if:
I removed the stealth file so 1.4 can boot/ download the beta/play the beta.

no one can really say how long it takes to get banned, but hold your horses there man, ixtreme LT for samsung drive is almost here and its not even hard to flash it ur self. you still got 10 days before the beta release to

haha, i have flashed my LiteOn from 1.6 to LT... i think it worked at least
but it was banned, so i sold it.

Is it pretty much the same thing.. i thougt ms28 from the guide was haaardder

the 10 Days? is that for the release of the Sammy LT Beta release?
