LITEON 74850 Flash LT2.0 Before Dash Update or afterwards?

I just ordered a replacement drive of my fried 93450c on the way ,now the sys dash board is 12***,should I write the new LT2.0 to the new drive before it updates to the latest 13*** or afterwards I could still do it ? any difference ? thanks for your help

Put stock firmware on the drive, update the dashboard and then flash LT+ 2.0.

but a lot of people told me they did not flash back to stock fw before dash updates to 13599+, and they have not been banned

another question is that is it possible to apply the dash updates without the dvd drive connected ?
