Flash problem 1.0/2.6

I installed the chip and booted the cromwell (3.00 came installed), bank 1, no problem so far.

I then attempted a network flash with a 512K 5032 bios (*non* 1.6 version of course) and it proceeded to lock up.

I am no longer able to boot to bank 1 (frag), however, I can boot to bank 2 only if Flash protect is *off* and it goes to the Cromwell screen! Insane!

Of course, since I am in protect mode, I cannot flash. Booting to either bank with flash protect off gives a frag. Booting to the other bank with flash protect on gives black screen, amber led.

Any ideas?

Update. Somehow with all my screwing around. FlashBios 3.03 seems to be loaded on Bank 2 now, with Flash protect off.....bizarre.....

However, flashing from network now produces an "erase failed" error. Flashing from CDRW/DVDR no luck...."no bios found", but it reads the disc name.....

Ugh.....

Ok, for future ppl with this problem.....even though the switch connector was FULLY seated, I tried forcing and holding it into the connector WHILE flashing, and it worked....

Junk connectors...
