Flash protect on chip stock setting??

Just making sure I dont mess anything up since I have finally gotten to this stage.
Does the chip ship to you with the switch Disabled, so you can flash without switching it?
I never touched the switch, so I am wondering if I have to take apart my xbox again just to turn that switch to disabled in order to flash.

Well, you should never close up the box first since soldering could be bad an you wouldn't know until you flashed.
I believe it ships "Off" but you'll wanna recheck if the flash has an error.
(it would DEFINITELY have an error)

Oh, and make SURE that if you have a ver 1.6b Xbox (ONLY able to boot from banks 5678) that you do NOT flash over banks 5678.
