When I try to flash the bios on a v1.4 I get a unknown bios error. When I boot it says read only I checked the chip and the red light is on. I disconnect the x3 pro switch to make sure that was not flash protecting but it still is comming up read only. Do I have a faulty switch on the chip I tried to flash with switch 1 and 2 on the rest off and 2 on and the rest off I tried to boot in backup mode but my xbox just frags

read this thread on http flash: http://www.teamxecuter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=26153.

Use only X3 bios since you would handicap lots of X3 capabilities with evox bios. I would try disconnecting the cable to the Pro switch to see if it flashes. Make sure to use X3 2913.bin bios and not X3 2913v16plus.bios. While we are at it, why not flash to 2914 since it's newer?

I have a similar problem. I have version 1.6 with a working 1959 flash. When I try to flash to 2913 or 2914 X3 config live states "please remove flash protect and flash again". I have tried both the regular and plus versions of each bios. The chip and pro switch both light up red(flash protect disabled), I have disconnected the pro switch cable, same result cannot flash. I have tried network, CDRW, CDR, DVD, load from HD, HTTP none will flash. I am using the standard A/V cable and original conroller.

nartac, I have also tried ftp same result. The chip or bios thinks the flash protect is on when it is not.

So is there no one at Team Xecuter who can give any feedback on the situations listed or or ober0n and myself just on our own?
