I am just about to install my Xecuter 3 CE, but I lost the wire connecting to the BIOS bank selection board. Because I cant really change the bank anymore I am basicly limited to one BIOS. What i really want to do is put Cromwell on the TSOP and another BIOS on the modchip. Is there a way i can easily do this with the aid of the Xecuter 3 CE? or will i have to use the Mech assault / Dashboard method? Will this even work? Is the orginal Xbox BIOS mandatory? (I dont plan on using Xbox Live.) Thanks alot, I couldnt find this information anywhere.

you could flash X3 3294 to banks 1+2+3+4, and cromwell to bank 5 - then when you power up your box the X3 3294 bios will load - then use X3 Config Live to switch to the Cromwell bios.

its under bios tools - bios bank select

This is probably the best way to get round your problem

Oh, so i can still change the bank even without the external piece? I know there are probably better ways to do this - but i kind of want to flash the TSOP. That way i can push short to boot to linux or push long to boot to Xecuter. I just dont know if there is an easier way to flash the TSOP. And i dont know if the orginal xbox BIOS is necicary for Xecuter to work right.

Thanks,

Petes

EDIT: I have a xbox 1.4

The switch wire for the X3 is inexpensive and can be bought from most modchip suppliers.

To answer your question, there's no facility on the X3 to flash the TSOP. It was a concept before release, but the function was never included. You'd have to use an exploit to do the job.

Thanks alot! Is it OK for me to flash to TSOP w/ cromwell and run the Xecuter BIOS on the Xecuter 3 CE? Does the Xecuter BIOS need the original Xbox BIOS to function? I wouldnt think so but i'dd like to be sure before i mess things up! Thanks again,

Yes, if you really want to flash the TSOP then it won't affect the chip. This is why the chip is a good solution to those who have trashed their TSOP.
