flash tsop with x3ce

i bought the x3 ce for my version 1.4 xbox,because i flashed the tsop with a bios that doesnt support the focus chip,and all i got was fraging after flash completed.any way installed the x3 ce and flashed it no problems it works awesome.i do want to reflash the xbox tsop with my original bin,so i can get the full function back from the xbox,ie. live.i went with tsop mod in begining cause it was easy,but since i had to get chip,for above reasons,i would love to get tsop going and get set up for live as well as the x3 setup.any help is greatlly apreciated.

I think the x3 will do it but I'm not sure if you still have to solder the jumps in or not. On http://www.xbox-scene.com there are tutorials for flashing tsop. I think xbins has copies of the retail bios. You will have to firure out which one is right for your version of xbox. It has to be the one that belongs on your version so choose wisely. you might ask around or search for a version chart of the retail bios cuz I think the file names don't contain the version ie 1.0-1.1, 1.2-1.5. they're named 35987.bin or something like that. I know you backed up your bios but I wouldn't trust it since you tried to flash the tsop all ready and the box fragged. Unless you backed up your retail bios before you tried the flash. Then it should be fine. If you have a friend with the same version and it's modded then that would be a good source for a clean retail bios also.

my back up tsop bios is fine,i ran the xbox for 6 months with the x2 4983.06 flashed to tsop.i wanted to change tsop bios for a bigger drive and have a g drive thats when things went wrong .it reflashed but fragged on reboot,like i said above,i installed the x3 ce and every things great again,but since its easy to switch between tsop and chip with this mod i wanted to get tsop back to set up for live.i asked this question at teamxecuters site,and they said use evox to flash tsop,dont know if this guy is a newbie or what,cause mod chip boots the lpc buss and does not switch the tsop buss back on after it boots,so the tsop will not be flashed with evox.i guess i will have to write my own bios for x3 that will switch back to tsop buss once it boots.i thought maybe some one here knew how to get the x3 to do the tsop flash since on the x3 ce specs page at every vendors site as well as teamxecuter,it says it can flash onboard tsop.

Right so you don't have a copy of the retail bios...do you?

you can only get on live with a retail bios.

i asked this question at teamxecuters site,and they said use evox to flash tsop,

This is the only teamxecuter website I know of atleast the only real one.

http://www.xbox-scene.com has the tutorials for flashing the tsop just sub the retail bios in for the hacked one.

when i originally hacked my box it was a tsop evox game save hack,and i backed up tsop and every thing else,and the files are good.i then flashed with x2 4983.06 after backup,and used that for six months.i went to reflash tsop so i could have a bios that supported a g drive,after that system fragged,found out bios i loaded did not support focus video chip.so at a lost to fix it,i picked up the x3 ce.installed it and it works awesome.the site modchipman.com said under specs that this chip would allow a tsop flash.well its not built in to any of the x3 software yet.so i am looking for a way to boot off the chip then disable the mod to flash tsop.if tsop was bootable i could use any one of several methods to flash it,but the tsop is not bootable with the current flash on it.so evidently a bios will have to be written for the x3 to support tsop flash.like the matrix did for the v1.0 boxes.i read some one said to put original bios on a bank of x3 and use that for live but i have serious doubts that will work.i'm sure ms will detect chip id. and ban the box.i appreciate all input,i hope i've clearly stated problem.thanks
p.s. i guess the above is just some back ground to let all know where i'm at.
question is,short of the milksop,tsop replacement,29 wire home brew,is there any way to recover tsop with the x3ce?specs say it does,i heard the chip is awesome which it is but i wish it would do everything it was stated to do.spent the bucks for chip now i want the full deal,original tsop for live and mod for every thing else.
