FlashBIOS 3.0.1 Erasing Problem

For a disc flashing method you need. your 1mb bios renamed to bios.bin
you also need a 100mb dummy file. Thats all that you put on the disc. the other alternatve is http. try that if you want.

Yes, I've done everything thaat every flash tutorial covers on this site says, I'm at a loss at what to do. I've done it all, Dummy file....Bios and every time it says "Unkown Bios ......Halting" or something to that effect.

Recap of my progress...

Ok, I've read through all the tutorials reguarding Flashing the X3 CE chip, and It still will not flash. Both flash protect switches are off, bank is set to (On, On, Off,Off,Off) I'm using the latest Bios form Xbins and have tried both Http and CD Methods of flashing. I have also booted from the backup bank to reflash and still no result.

Problem: When Bio erase phase (Yellow Bar) comes up, it stops at 1/4 of the way. I've tried the 3 latest Bios and have the same result. As for the Http method, Nothing seems to work at all, it just stays at 1/4 erase. At least with the CD method I got to 1/4 in the install phase (green bar). I shut down the box and restarted using the backup Bios.

Then, I tried diffrent media for the CD, then It stated "Unkown Bios......Halting!" or something that effect then "No Bios Updates found...halting!" the next time i tried it with diffrent Bios. I can't even flash through Http:// methods.

....after hours of messing around, checking solder points, Bios versions, multiple falshing methods, checking and re-checking the flash protection... Re-downloading Bios and Reflashing again with older compatable bios known to work. Checking and rechecking every tutorial on this and Xbox-scene site I have made no progress. I'm begining to think the chip is defective or my Bios download is bad. If someone can e-mail the latest and Functional BIOS, please PM me so that we can arrange it. the Modded box is a version 1.5

Well I finally got it to work, I had to use a diffrent bank but I got it to work...

Hi, I'm glad you got it working. Out of curiosity, now that you have X3 Config live, are you able to flash your other bank now using flash from hdd or flash via FTP? (admin folder)
