FlashBios 3.03 and Xbox 1.6

I apologize if this is a repeat...but I've had a real hard time confirming what I'm thinking here.

I just ordered an X3 and specifically asked for flashbios 3.03 ( xbox has a manufacturer date of 0ct 04 ) so I assumed it had to be a 1.6b.

I just opened this guy up, and I'll be damned if I don't have Samsung Ram ( 1.6 )

The chip hasn't arrived yet..but what I'm wondering is if I'm pretty much wasting my time trying to install a 3.03 verision of flashbiox mod chip in this box? Is there a chance it will actually work? If it does not, are there any workarounds or a way to get it down to 3.01 to work without having another xbox?

You should be ok.

Although you may find the 1st or 2nd 1MB bank will be FlashBIOS 3.0.3, the other (or at least the backup BIOS) will most certainly have an earlier version.

That'll teach you to check properly next time, eh?

I did the exacty same thing....1.6 xbox and 3.03 FlashBios from the supplier. Just got the chip today, was curious how yours turned out Murf. Did it work?

Wish I could tell you! Haven't received the chip yet...but I did talk a guy on a forum who works for "chipdealer" who I ordered the chip from. He stated that they do keep both copies of flashbios on the chip, so I "should" have no problems.

How did yours end up going?

Is the purpose of ck3 pro/lite just to power drive??

So if CK3 is just to power d drive ,then i cud save money by not gettin one.For probe , i will get a USB probe on ebay.Ofcourse i will get a VIA6421 card also.So is this it.Or does the CK3 has ny other uses apart of this.BTW i read it on JF tut that u can power d drive with x360 itself but d process is a bit tricky.Plz help as i need to buy dese tools soon.BTW will the liteon 8xxxxx V2 and 9xxxxx series flash with probe V1 or probe V2.N why cant probe V1 flash it.

The ck3 DOES power the drive and makes the entire process simple. Using the xbox to power the drive is extremely tricky, especially when trying to power cycle certain drives within a second! The liteon probe v1 is basically redundant as the probe v2 does the same as the probe v1, but has extra functions for flashing the 8xxxxx v2 and 9xxxxxx series liteons. Details for using the probe v2 is enclosed in the jungleflasher tutorial. Hope this helps.
