FLASHBIOS and HD pack

Why is it that the backup bios for the X3 (Flashbios 3+ I believe) doesn't seem to work with the HD video packs? I've got the monster cable version and the only way I can see the back up bios (start with both eject and power pressed) is with my original composite cables.

Will this capability be added or problem fixed in future releases?

Maybe because it seemed to work fine on the X2 and because there are so many of us that use the HD cables?

Your response seems defensive and really shouldn't be...I'm not attacking you. I've had no issues with your X2 chips working with the HD cable so now that I have an X3 it is not unreasonable for me to wonder whether this may be a future feature or a bug that will eventually get fixed.

Either way, as long as your chip preforms, I shouldn't have to go back to the backup 256 again.

what works fine on the X2 ?

what are you talking about ?

this is a LINUX bios - nothing to do with x2 mod x2 bios or x3 mod or x3 bios ?

there is no HD pack support for cromwell and xcalibur. this has nothing to do with a hacked bios. do you even know the difference ?

Of course I know the difference. My 1.1 xbox had your X2 with the older Cromwell bios. During its initial flash to your X2 hacked bios it displayed on my TV via my HD pack without any issues. By contrast, my new 1.6 with the X3 (FlashBIOS v3.0.0) will not display the cromwell bios on my tv via the same HD pack. On this same topic I just ran across this on Xbox-Scene.com:

http://www.xbox-scene.com/xbox1data/sep/EEppkZykAZMIJvGOGU.php

Two things, first the new release states "With v1.6 models you need to use standard AV cables or you wont get any video." Secondly, while I realize this is a linux bios, according to the link, the news was released by Team Xecuter, so that is why I'm asking you folks. As far as I know, you may have some insight into their development processes and therefore, may know if the abitlity to view the cromwell FLASHBIOS via the HD pack will eventually be offered or wheather this is a limitation due to the xcalibur.

Believe me, I'm not heartbroken over it, just curious...unlike some of these jokers, my systems are up and running without issue.

of course you can use your HD pack with a v1.1

i dont get your point ?

Cromwell has HD pack support for conexant and focus video encoders - just not Xcalibur. which is exactley what we said.

my 1.6 with x3 chip and latest flash bios 3.0.3 is working fine with my hd pack.

I dont know if this is because it route's through my harmon kardon receiver before going out to my projector first but I will try hooking to projector directly to be certain......I just installed this all today...and was scared when i read that only the standard A/V cable will work cause...my theater room is not set up for standard atm.

I'm having the same problem. I have a v1.0 Xbox and just updated my FlashBIOS to 3.0.3 and it doesn't work properly with the HD pack. I have the MadCatz HD pack if that makes any difference. I had to switch to the composite cables to see the screen. I'm also getting the following message on the FlashBIOS screen:

Video Encoder Detected: Conexant
Flash type: XECUTER3 (2048k)
BOOT: start USB init

I don't have any options for Enable Network flashing or anything else. Just the above text under the FlashBIOS 3.0.3 title. Any ideas what happened?

The cables I have are Microsoft Xbox.
they are newer than the old style that had a box on the end.

These ones have the gold tip wires allready attatched...

got a best buy 19.99$

Anyways I can confirm that my xbox 1.6 with 3.0.3 bios is running in 720p with these component video cables just fine.

Anyone know why I'm getting the following message on the FlashBIOS screen and nothing else?

Video Encoder Detected: Conexant
Flash type: XECUTER3 (2048k)
BOOT: start USB init

I can't choose Enable Network Flashing or anything else since it doesn't even appear on the screen. I think it flashed the BIOS fine since the title on the top of the screen says FlashBIOS 3.0.3. I'm just worried about next time I have to do an upgrade. My Xbox seems to be running fine though despite this snag.

I also have the HD pack. should I even have to upgrade to this new flashbios 3.0.3 ?
I'm fine with 3.0 I'd think ?

I also don't understand why HD wouldn't be supported as it's really (in my opinion) the wave of the future.
Anyone who says who cares just hasn't tried viewing anything in HD.

if your banned you'll know as soon as you try to connect. keeping it turned off for 2 months won't help you...
