flashbios download problem

when i try to download flashbios (or anything for that matter) my computer opens the rar file directly in my web browser. if i then try to go to file>save, the file saves as filename.rar.htm and renaming it doesnt work , if i click "save link as..." i get index.php saved.

sounds like a classic windows problem to me - could be one of many things. firstly I take it you are using IE - goto TOOLS - INTERNET OPTIONS - ADVANCED TAB. Click reset to defaults.

Sometimes download manager can screw with some of your setting. Make sure none of these are running.

See if any of those things make a difference.

One thing that does scream out is - where the hell are you trying to download this file from - maybe try XBINS using a decent FTP client - should cut out all the probs you are having.

well, tried using two firefoxs and two IEs on mine and my roomate's pcs. trying to download from TEAMXECUTER.COM , right, so i couldnt find 3.01 on xbins, only 3.03. the old releases are not properly labeled, dont know which is which and none show up in bios manager properly. xbins was of course my first choice.

just tried with reset IE, no luck.

thanks for your help, any other suggestions?
