Found the other post regarding the same problem that I was having last night when I was trying to flash the xbox with the new bios. I eventually resolved the problem by using one of my last OEM controllers. So today I tried to get a better handle on what was going on and this is what I found.
My main controller I use is the Logitech wireless and this is when I first encountered the problem when I could not scroll through or select the FTP method of installing the bios.
Next I connected my son's Hip Gear controller which I know that works and still the same problem.
Was able to find the last OEM controller and plugged it in with other two controllers. It was working fine. Then I noticed the led on my wireless was flashing. This usually means there is no connection which at first I thought was a battery problem. I replaced the battery's and tried it again. The receiver would not indicate that it was receiving the signal.
So I thought that maybe that new battery's were also bad and decided to return to the OEM. This was where it became strange, the OEM had also stopped working. So after investigating this here is what I found.
With just two controllers (one of them a OEM) there was never any problem using the OEM even after a few minutes. When a third controller was plugged in, the OEM still kept on working until approximately 30 seconds later. It had completely stopped functioing also.
Just by unplugging one of the other controllers the OEM started working again after a few seconds.
This only happens when I'm in the flashbios screen which to me indicates that there might be a problem with the X3 chip not correctly controlling the ports.
This may not be the case but I hope this may shed some light onto the situation in correcting the problem for the team.
Also note:XBox version 1.0
