I have a v.106 xbox. I can't seem to change the version of FlashBIOS v.3.0.0 to v.3.0.1. suggestions?

i dont v1.6 is compitable with that version. ive read about it on a few threads and stuff. whats up with using flashbios 3.0.0 to flash the chip?
that's just what came up when I first tried to flash. I'm a complete newbie who realized that doing the mechanical part (soldering) wasn't that tough. The software part on the other hand... do you know how I change it to one that is compatible?
3.0.0 is just fine.. Worry about getting the rest of your settings working first, then reflash to 3.0.1Sanchez78 said:
You will not notice any difference, and it is just a backup bios..
You can reflash that backup bios from your X3 Config Live.
Put the latest 2914 bios on your chip, and play around with it. You will have a good time.
The software part is not that bad either, just need to read up on it all.

but it doesn't work! I've been trying to do the http flash, following the instructions on this site. All I'm getting is a black screen. Any suggestions for which bios to use for a first time flash for a blank hardrive, for a v1.06 xbox that has v.3.0.0 FlashBIOS?

What bios are you flashing? The Xecuter bioses have a vPlus16 file with them that you will need to use with your 1.6 box.
Is it a 1.6 or 1.6b? Because I have several 1.6s and 3.0.0 works GREAT.

Well you were all right. 2914 Bios is working. From my reading it appears that loading a dashboard is my next project. On this I've also been having problems. Trying to get evodash3935 on the xbox, but in FlashFXP I keep getting "transfer failed!". What settings should I be in to do the ftp transfer?
When I boot, I get a screen that says: X3 detected. Build 2914. Dip Bank Select: 5-8. C: E: F:, then a list: X3 Config Live, Bios Tools, etc... Anyone know the settings I require to allow ftp transfers? Or where there's a link to good instructions on this?
