FlashBIOS v3.03 leads to frag and service screen

I tested the box without the chip, everything was cool. Here is my process:

1) Burned v3.03 flashbios to ritek dvd media per instructions.
2) sat dip switches to on, on, off, off, off
3) Booted box to chip
4) Selected flash from disk
5) Insterted disk
6) Box soaked up the goods. No errors.
7) Turned back on, without chip, did not adjust any dips.
8) Got frag and "your xbox needs service" or whatever screen.

??? Help ???

First off, finish helping us by not leavin out any dets, like say uhhh,......was there a service code # in the top left? (definitely)
Next, you are saying that when you power up with the chip DISABLED (ie long power press) THAT is when you get the error?
Did you upgrade your HD? (IF you did, and did not "LOCK" it, then M$ will NOT boot)

IF the error was caused by a new HD that is not locked, check the X3CL HD info and see if it says it "supports locking" if so, lock it and you are cool.
The other option to that most ppl prefer is using "Config Magic Final" to lock the HD.
It's advantage is that it sets a PW on the lock so that you can unlock it even if something happens to the motherboard it is locked to.
(Find Config Magic Final in the usual places.)

I also have a comment. Why are you trying to flash your chip with flashbios 3.0.3? It is already on your chip. Just set switch bank to 5678.

If you are looking for an "alternate" bios get the latest X3 bios.
