Flashed 2MB bank with X3, how to "uninstall"?

When I flashed my X3, I didn't set the switches to the first 1 MB bank, instead I left the switches on "off off off off" (2MB bank). How do I remove the bios from Bank 1-8 and put it to Bank 1-4?

Another question: when you fill up the first and second 1 MB banks, can you still have the backup bios?

Backup bios is always present. to fix your previous flash, just boot into backup (hold power and eject) then set your switches correctly and flash your bios. I hope you don't have a 1.6b.... :D

With 2M bank selected the flash being only 1M in size will only load to the first 1M (1234) bank so all should be ok.
You can set the switches to off,on,off, off, off to flash to the 2nd 1M bank (5678) if u require a bios in the other bank too.

Don't forget u do not need the switches to use the x3 they are just a nice addition.

With regards to the backup...it does not matter what you flash to the main bios banks it cannot affect the backup bios as its a completly seperate chip.
So you can fill up both 1M banks with any bios you choose and the backup will still be available.
If u ever need to update the backup bios then it can be done via Config Live (CFL) once u have a good bios flashed to the main bios banks.

just that u cant boot to backup if you totally screw both banks on the main bios chip.

As the x3 is shipped with 3.01 flashbios on the backup this bios will work with all versions but the 1.6b.

In your case u cannot have a 1.6b because u got flashbios up with no switch selection which also loads 3.01 flashbios.
so no prob

I thought with all the switches off it defaulted to banks 1-4 ?
Close, with the switch "disconnected" it defaults to 1-4.

I have this problem also, just modded a 1.6b with an X3.
Did the HTTP Flash but used the wrong file
X3 3294.bin
instead of X3 3294 v16plus.bin

my other xbox is v1 and got used to avoiding the v1.6 files :(

Not to worry, I thought, X3 has a backup ROM. So I pressed eject and power at the same time.
Appears to boot to backup eventually main LED goes AMBER but

Backup mode doesn't show a screen on my TV.
I can't access via HTTP anymore.

What are my options - could I pop the X3 into my old xbox (with X2 2.3b). How would I force it to load the Backup BIOS ?
Would I then see the flash menu on my TV...

Tried to do HTTP "blind" but I don't get the upload page on my web browser

Any help appreciated

First of all, do you have a X3CE or X3?
Second: Putting your X3 in your xbox1.0 would make that xbox boot to Config Live, so flashing will be a breeze if you do that.

if it's a 1.6b just set the dips to off on off off off and it should boot flashbios 3.0.3
