I have installed the X3 into a 1.0 box and am coming up with a issue it boots to the xbox logo then that is it. I have read in the forum's and found issue's that were similar and tried all. Reflashing with older bios 3294,3108,2913,1957,1959 but still comes up with the same issue each time. Please any one have any ideas on this I'm stumped

X2 or M8 What bios's are those for are they for the x3 and if so where in xbins do i find those. Not sure where to look. thanks for the help
Well flashed with bios that had mentioned and still nothing sits on logo with no xecuter (rox my box). It does after about 10-15mins gives me a error 16 which i know cause the dash is not loaded. Changed and tried stock hd and still same

I'm not sure what your doing anymore....
X2 and M8 are different bioses which work on any modchip.. Not as fancy as X3 but good enough to get a dashboard running and run that X3erase.xbe file so you can clean your X3 bios... or if you got no dashboard, burn a boot disc with the file and run it off the disc.
This is an alternative option to clearing the password of X3CL.
The most common option is to flash with an older X3CL 18xx 19xx versions which the password should work and then you can clean the password and reflash with a new bios again. This really is easier and should work... You might have other little factors causing problems... I'm not sure...

Alright I understand that this might be something more. Bios switch settings on on off off off. This would be right for the x3 bios. There should have been a bios already flashed on this bank. When I switched to this bank there was no bios. reflashed it with a older bios and still had a logo lock. Could there be something not keeping the bios in memory. Or am I looking at replacing the chip. It was from a previous box and that was a 1.6
I think it just needs to be reset to default if there were settings stored in it.. especially coming from another box now...
Using FlashBIOS or watever you can flash with,
Change the switch to bank 5 (on on off on) and flash with evox M8 bios (M8plus.bin from EvolutionX M8plus Bios.rar) and use x3erase.xbe (x3_eeprom_erase.rar)

Well flashed with the m8 bios as you explain above. Seem to get some where now. Boots to the X logo and then right to the drive but i'm getting a error 9 . I have the Slayer installer in the dvd-rom but does not boot. I know the cd works I have used it many times before. Any idea's thanks for all the help. I know this is a pain in the @#&!!!
Err 9 - check your hdd is set to either Cable select or Master.
If neither work, hdd could be dead. I think that may have been your problem before also.

Hardrive works fine in other box. With mutiply drives i get the same error. Also having the slayer disk in should boot to that right. So I was thinking the chip will not disable. Would this cause the chip not to boot the right bios and that would explain why the disk won't read.
This other box, has it got a pin header in it? can you test your x3 in there? If it's the 1.6 you spoke of earlier, flash it to a v16plus bios and get it going, then flash it again in the same xbox but with a non 1.6 bios and put it back into your current xbox.
If its not reading the disc and hard drive, I think its the IDE cable that should have its connection checked since they are both plugged into that.
i just modded my xbox with xecuter2.6 and had probs but now when I turn on the box it says "excuter2 config live loading...." then goes to the xecuter screen (rox my box) then boot to the M$ screen and will not read my copies what do I do now? Please help

Yes the chip did come out of a 1.6 and was flashed with the 1.6 bios. The power supply is out on that box so going back to that box to reflash it can't do. Now I know that the M8 bios is booting but the dvd-rom is not being read so this could be from a bad ide cable is that what your saying. Also with the chip not being able to disable would this have anything to do with the error that i'm getting.

If you don't have a dashboard installed of course it's going to default back to the MS dashboard. You have to get a dashboard for your newly modded box
