Flashed BIOS ok, unable to boot from autoinstaller CD/DVD

I have xbox 1.6, and Xecuter 2.6CE. I got to the FlashBIOS screen ok and flashed latest version of Xecuter BIOS over HTTP. "X3 3294 v16plus.bin"

When I press the power button quick and the chip is activated, I see blue XECUTER LED on the panel, the XBOX logo is displaid with XECUTER ROCKS MY BOX words. So I put an auto installer, for evox, xbmc, and others, from slayer and many other distributors. I have tried different media too. I even tried it using DVD-ROM out of my PC. I am unable to boot from the DVD, be it the original xbox DVD reader or one form my PC. What it does is try and read it, then after about a minute XECUTER ROCKS MY BOX logo turns into Microsoft and xbox boots into MS DASHBOARD. I don't know what else I can do, please help.

What type of DVD drive is it, and what media did you try?

Thompson DVD drives are very picky on the media. I have found that Memorex CD-RW 4x 70MB 80Min work for my thompson drive. You can pick those up at Circuit City or Best Buy.

It says designed by Toshiba Samsung Strorage Technology. I don't think it's the media, because I tried pretty much everything. Another thing is that I had this xbox modded and running well, with dash installed, recently thought I decided to delete everything but Microsoft stuff and reinstall everything. So now I'm unable to boot anything off a DVD drive. When things were working good, I burned games onto the DVDs I had, and was able to play them. However, when I downloaded and burned auto installer cds/dvds they did not work, I even had my friend burn them for me and they worked on his xbox, but not on mine. Also note that I've tried sticking a DVD drive out of my PC in there, still didn't work.

Can I ask you this question, is it possible for an X2 2,6CE to run X3 BIOS? Aren't you supposed to obtain X2-5035 BIOS and load it onto you chip instead?

Yeah I didn't notice that the fist time....you have a X2.6 Chip running a X3 bios. That's your first problem. Flash the X2.6CE with the latest Bios X2-5035

It is impossible for an X2 chip to run an X3 bios. It simply will not work.

Your problem is the media you are using or the way you are burning it. Are you making an xISO, or do you already have an xISO?

Hahaha!!! Finally! I used X2-5035 BIOS. The trick was that it's a 512K file, I had to use X2 BIOS manager and create a 1 meg file using 5035 BIOS on bank 1 and 2, and the same 5035 bios on bank 3 and bank 4.

There seems a lot of banging around the bush with all the instructions everywhere. People seem to be afraid to list steps in 1 - 2 - 3. Everybody is expressing things vague as thought the cops are after them!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That wasn't the problem. There is no need for a 1 meg bios. My guess is by making the file bigger your drive was able to read it. Were you using a dummy file?

Dummy file? No, I flash over HTTP.


But anyway, it says XECUTER2 CONFIG LIVE LOADING...... Just before the XBOX logo during the boot. I have put x2config.ini into E drive and it still staying that. What's that?

It reads information from the config file, that's why it says config live loading.
