Flashed bios with 3.03, now nothing

I admit, first off, im a noob at this, my first chip. I installed the xecuter 2.6 with the xapter 1.6 (Xbox is 1.6) Everything went well, got the blue light, got the blue screen with the flashing options, I put the CD and flashed the bios (Yellow bar, Green bar) the xbox turned itself off, but when I start it in any other mode other than disabled mode, I get a solid red light with nothing on the screen whatsoever. How do I get the bios flash options screen back?

To be honest, I think I may have f**ked up the making of the flash CD

Any ideas of what I should do next would be greatly appreciated

the xbox dosent work with the chip turned off now either, Theres a warning saying that it needs a service. Yikes

Er 5 means your hard drive is not locked. Lock it and you will get your original dashboard back.

as for your chip, for starters you shoud not have flashed 3.0.3 to the chip as it's useless. Flash an X3 hacked bios to the chip. Search for Xbins or click on the link in my sig to find out how to download it.

Hold power and eject on bootup to get to your backup bios and flash a proper bios. Make sure you use the v16plus version.

I did what u said, I got the bios screen back, flashed the X3, but now it boots 3 times and flashes red. Any ideas? Thanks for your help

Just to double check, you used the x3_xxxx_v16plus.bin version? It could be to do with your bank switches. What settings did you use?

Should have been protect off, and bank switches on on off off

no i didnt use that version, where would i find that?

i only have 3 switches on off off. xecuter 2.6

protect was off

Is that the right bin for this chip?

Im having no joy accessing the bios menu by using the hold 2 buttons technique since this last flash, as well. thanks for ur time

Oh sh*te, my bad! I was thinking you had an X3. Sorry! It's coz you in the X3 forum not the X2. Umm download the latest version of the X2 bios and it probably also has a v16plus version that you need to use for your 1.6 xbox. Latest version can be found in xbins. For a 2.6 i think you need version 5032.

Just realised why... you stated above that you flashed your X3... oh well doesn't matter

No probs my fault for being a noob

I cant seem to start up the bios flash menu now. Holding eject and power isnt doing anything anymore, i just get that 3 boots and then the green/red flashing. Any ideas?

Ok thanks Rookio. I made the proper disc as per the tut instructions u posted above.

Now, if you can help with this last problem, I'll get off your back Like I said in the last post, when i power up the Xbox it runs for a second, then stops, then runs again, then stops, then runs with green/ red flashing lights. This happen since I noobly flashed the X3 bios to the chip. And I cant get the Bios Flash Options screen up, no matter how many times I press and hold power and eject.

My setting chip on, flash off, bank 1. I ve tried other setting but still cant get the flash options screen.

Hope you can help

hi mate no matter how many times you hold and press eject together it wont do naff all with the x2.6, holding power and eject to boot the backup rom is a x3 feature only. i think you are going to have to get your hands on a x2.6 external programmer and flash your chip that way, either that or do a hot swap on another xbox running a x2.6 and evox dash.

as for the error 05 you will need to lock the hdd in config magic found in the usual places.

Thanks for the help matt77303, this is what I did:

Downloaded config (downloaded the source first off oops but then the proper 1)
burned it to disc with dummy.bin.
Put it in xbox and tried in normal mode and chip mode
Nothing happened.
Pressed a few buttons on the controller.
Nothing happened.
Attached a noose to the ceiling

Why me? lol
This is doing my head in

Everything I do doesnt work. Please helpme

Ok now,

I got the programmer and flashed the correct bios, also locked my disc, so everything is cool and running. I guess it's a steep learning curve this modding lol, but I got there in the end with your help
