Sorry forgot to say ,I do flash my own console with the usb prov2 which is a dream to use!!
Its just I did a mates as well . He does not live close to me so I did it when he visited last.
So what I am trying to ask is that if a major update came out which required a reflash ,he couldnt just send me the drive (to save on postage !! ) - it would have to be the complete console so that i could revert to stock , update then reflash.
Obviously I wouldnt be able to if I just had the drive alone. I would need the console to put drive back in ( for matching key ) for me to connect to live to apply the update if you get my drift ??.
I hope that makes a bit of sense , sorry for bringing it to light again !!
