So I just flashed a refurbed console. It was a 9 series liteon, before i applied the update and it converted to 0251. So strangest thing happened, when i hit the phat key button it didnt ask me to probe the point, it just automatically skipped to step two and said extract complete, power cycle the drive. Thought that was really strange, any way so I moved on to hacking the key and writing the drive. When I hit liteon erase it brang up an error message saying that the drive key doesnt match the barcode on the drive. At this point I really had no idea what to do, or why the hell the drive was saying this. At the end of the day I trusted my instincts and the fact that I followed the procedure step by step and used all the newest tools, software, and methods. SO i forced the drive to erase and write, after writing the gold key didnt pop up saying the key was verified. However during the whole process it said the key was good, just not verified. Anyways, tried and tested all new discs, old discs, burnt games, and large format. THey all played with no problems and ran the numbers through xval and they never changed. Anyone else ever have this issue, did I do everything right, just sometimes the key cant be verified on a refurb? Will it be safe to be on live? Thanks.
