I just recently installed X3 mod chip on my 1.0 XBOX. So after reading a couple of posts on installing bios and wanting to finish this project quickly I went out and downloaded X3 3294 bios, burned it to a DVD and went ahead with the flashing. I managed to successfully flash the bios but I later (5 minutes ago) found out that I needed to select a different bank setting before flashing so I ended up flashing the entire 2 Megs worth of bios.

My question is:
Can I from this point go back and undo what I did and re-install the bios into a smaller bank?
Do I even need to do that?
How would I go about doing it?

I have searched these forums and couldn't find an answer I was looking for so if anybody is able to help I would greatly appreciate it.

PS. The dip switches on the X3 were always on the "factory default" setting.

i am not for sure but if you use the 256k backup flash ( hold the power and eject button) your modchip indicator should turn purple and you should be able to reflash.......but maybe the 2000 also includes the 256 k backup flash

Firepuppy, if the settings were on the 2MB bank then it would have started flashing at the beginning and stopped after 1Mb worth (thats all the information you gae it) So i am pretty sure your best bet is to set the switches to the 2nd mb bank (bank 5678) and flash a bios to that. You may even find that flashbios is still present on that bank.

I guess the other point is that you are correct. If you bios is running fine, then you don't need to reflash anything.
