flashes amber help

just finished installing the x3 on me and my dads xboxs....his works fine...mine has a problem though...i flashed the bios, and i just had it on sitting there while i was doin other things and it lost video and flashed amber and the fan spins fast...while this is happening the buttons dont work, i have to pull the power cord, and when i plug it back in itll do it for a sec then turn off the turn itslelf back on twice just to flash amber again....i thought maybe it was something to do with the bios or whatever so i changed it to on on off on and that came up perfect, and i let it sit for a while, and it turned off and flashed amber again....any help on this, please....also i took it apart checked and resoldered points, and that didnt help...

Sounds like my friends, If you find any info please post and I will do the same too. Also how is your x3 installed? LPC Board rebuild?

no i didnt use that ...i followed the tut exactly as it says...and my dads works fine, just mine doesnt...could it be the chip itself?

Have you tried your Dads chip in you Xbox? This will atleaset prove if it is the chip or not.

Did you upgrade the Hard disk too by any chance ??
because this is classic overheating..

Set you fan speed to 40% in config live and od the same in whatever dash you use if it switches back to 20 under the dash

i havent tried his chip in mine, but ill try that in a min.....and no i havent upgraded the hard drive yet, but i will as soon as i make sure this thing is working

ok so far so good...had to put the fan all the way up to 95% to get the temp to stay at 111-113...put my new hd in, works fine..... only problem thats gettin me now is how do i get the apps to show up on it...i know im new, but everybody is at one point

lol now i got that...all good now..
