Hi!

Ok, here's my problem:

I have an old xbox (v1.0) with hdd 120 GB,

the chip type is a LPC based (SST 49LF020),

using genuine BIOS EvoX D6 EjectFix

and following MD5 Hash: C29B578A4B0084DF354B0D408083EB1C.

i want to update it on x2 4981, but i have 4 different versions:

256k.x2.4981.06.fc.ef.rar

256k.x2.4981.67.fc.ef.rar

512k.x2.4981.06.fc.ef.rar

512k.x2.4981.67.fc.ef.rar

i won't find a solution in the forums for my problems:

1) which version i need and
2) could i use one of this iso-images above or have i do something before i flash? (editing .ini-files??)

thanx for help!

helki :)

First, why not use one of the current X2CL BIOSes? 5035 is the latest version, been out for 4 months or so, is very stable and has excellent configuration options.

Second, if you Xbox is already modded why not flash right from the software there? If you have an X2 chip you can use FlashX (not sure if this works on other chips) or you can flash via the EvoX dashboard.

At this point the 4xxx series of BIOSes are obsolete.

as far as I am aware the SST49LF020 cheapmods are only 256K so I would suggest using the Xecuter 4983 BIOS. You cannot use the 5035 bios as that is 512k.

Goto XBINS and download X2.4983.BIOS.RAR

it can be found in the folder: /XBOX/bios/Xecuter/Xecuter2/MULTI_VERSION/_old/

I would not use the versions you have already got, use the version downloaded from xbins. The bios will be 256K so will be idea for your chip. This is the most recent bios that you are going to be able to flash to your chip.

Extract the rar and inside will be two versions of the bios:

4983_06.BIN - for if you just want an F drive upto 137gb
4983_67.BIN - for an F and G drive - F to 137GB, G gets the rest

Good Luck

Ah yes, good point. We are in the BIOS forum and not the modchip forum here... I was assuming an X2 chip. Ignore what I said, except about flashing "from the box." This will need to be done, as if you only have 256KB on the chip there is no space for FlashBIOS or similar on there in addition to your current BIOS. Don't know what to suggest for this but there has got to be a piece of software for it.

I've just got too much love for the 5035!
