Flashing an X3

Well I posted a thread a few months back about having to swap from a 1.0 to a 1.6, but it got lost and I got busy so I figured I'd ask again.

My 1.0 xbox died recently (leaky cap started smoking, set off fire alarm in dorm, etc), so I ordered a new xbox off of ebay. The only problem is that this new one is a 1.6, and the chip is flashed for a 1.0. My second problem is that I flashed over the banks that flashbios 3.03 lives on (5678 I think). So is there any way that I can reflash the chip so that it is compatable with my 1.6?

yes you can download flashbios 3.0.3 which you can get from my singture or from xbins then flash a emtey bank with it then get the X3 bios from xbins you want x3329416plus.bin which is in the same zip file as the one for a 1.0

FYI.... 3.0.1 might boot on it. Chances are it will.

Just because it has the latest versioning doesn't mean it works for all.
You should note that it doesn't work on all Xbox's.

It has issues running on 1.6. 1.6B will run it fine.
That's why there's two versions on the modchip.
If it worked for all there would only be one.

it worked on my 1.0 my 1.4 and my 1.6 & 1.6b (of course) all the other boxs that i've done with no problems

Well I finally got around to trying things out, but no cigar.

Banks 5678: FRAG
Banks 1234, 12345678: Error 5
All 512kb and 256kb banks: Error 5

So basically I think I need to flash flashbios on there somewhere so I can flash a good bios so I can boot my unlocked hard drive. Is there any way I can do this?

if your backup not working(power eject at sametime) you may have to do a hotswap
if you have a v1.6 and not a v1.6b the backup should work

You turn on the xbox with a chip in it that will boot to flashbios, then when the flashbios screen is on you take out that chip and put yours in and flash with what ever method you want.

Thanks, that's what I figured it was. Unfortunately I do not have another chip or any friends with chipped Xboxes. Is there any other way to flash my X3? I suppose I could always get a cheap chip or something. Thanks for all your help guys.

Oh, I also have a 1.6b, I guess I never said that earlier. I thought I did.

try the place were you got the chip they may reflash it with flashbios 3.0.3 to all banks
