Hello all, first off I have a Ver 1.6 Xbox, Excuter 3 chip, anyways when flashing the bar goes from yellow to green then stops and says programming failed, I have taken everything a part again and resldered everything including pin 13 and 14, and still nothing works trys to turn on, but turns on and off three times then frags, so I diable it and try to boot it, and it goes to a get console servied screen, I cant do anything with it, do I need someother program....... Or is there someone who I could send this to for a little money they could do this right for me, I'm at my wits end with this....... Any Help would be wonderful....

Thanks,
Henry

I'm kinda new but maybe I can help. Did you test before you installed the bios by booting up your Xbox and seeing if you got the blue(modchip mode) and red(normal mode) Xecuter logo on the external switch module? This test should have been done before installing bios just to verify your soldering. I am sure you did, but just checking. When you flashed did you FTP the bios or did you burn the bios to a cdr/dvdr? Give a little more details and maybe myself or some other members can help you out. Good luck.

Sorry, a little more info, yes I did test before flashing everything worked, on the disabled (red) I could play games, and on enabled (blue) I got the flash bios 3.0.0 blue screen, I tryed flashing Bios X3 1959 version, I burned a cd-rw with it as explained in the help area.

Noobie Help:- I have hit search so many times :-(

Hi,

I want to flash my 360 But i am not sure if i have via 6421 chipset so after reading round everywhere i was told to use iprep as it will tell me if it can do it or not i have a sata silicone image sata 150 board.

Firstly though assuming I did have a via 642 chipset, would i need to extract the key from the drive or would iprep automatically do this when making the usb bootable device ?

Thanks

Andy

try downloading and reading the jungleflasher tutorial

while it doesn't cover use of iprep, it is very comprehensive in the scope of situations it covers

Re: Noobie Help:- I have hit search so many times :-(

Hi Mate

Thanks for the reply, just in case i do need to extract the key out of the drive then I will be following this guide

http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/767988

am i right in thinking that if my pc has the serial connection at the back the one that looks like ioioi (5pins and 4 pins) then i will not need to buy an extra rs232 lead as the connector in this pic ......

http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/767988

......would plug directly into the back of my pc...

Thanks for your help mate.

Re: Noobie Help:- I have hit search so many times :-(

yeah, that would work if you have a lite-on 7xxx series

however, there are so many different types of DVD drives
Dumping the firmware (or extracting the key) is different for each one

so first step is to identify the type of drive you have

jungleflasher tutorial does this the best (i'm pushing that tutorial a little hard, aren't i? haha)

Re: Noobie Help:- I have hit search so many times :-(

it says this application failed to start because FTD2XX.DLL was not found. Reinstalling the application may fix this.

So thats what i did reinstalled but still no joy kept getting same error message.

Cheers for your help mate

you must run JF from within the folder it comes in as that file is inside the folder and must be left in same directory as Jungleflasher.exe (along with the portio files)

Re: Noobie Help:- I have hit search so many times :-(

log looks normal!

Please READ the Jungleflasher tutorial - it describes everything you need to do regards the drivers on the via card - also in the FAQ section there is a whole pile of common problems and their solutions
