Yes you should state what bios you are trying to flash to your chip.

For instnace one gentle man kept "trying" to flash the cromwell bios to his chip and kept complainging the flashbios screen kept coming up.

Yeah, what he said. Make sure you aren't using flashbios to flash flashbios. When you say you booted with a lower version afterwards, it makes me think you did so.

What's the original filename of the bios you are flashing?

Xbox 360 Modding

So I'm planning to mod my xbox 360. I like the idea of a improved cooling system and putting a new look on. Here is my question though. Will modding the xbox 360 and putting LEDs on it cause the xbox to fault out? Will it cause a power drain to the motherboard or dvd player? I don't want to put all this work on it, for it to crash.

Re: Xbox 360 Modding

Well I think most LEDs on the xbox 360 custom cases are powered where the dvd drive is powered. Does that sound right?

Re: Xbox 360 Modding

Most of the xbox 360 LED lighting kits are going to be powered by the dvd power connection. This is said to be bad for your xbox because you are taking power away from your dvd drive. I haven't done any or my case mods using the dvd drive power source so I can't comment on its reliability. I have done 2 case mods with LED strips purchased from http://www.oznium.com/led-flex-strips
and I just solder them directly to a 12volt power source on the underside of the xbox 360 mobo. I think soldering to the motherboard is the most reliable/long-term/long-lasting solution for powering your LED lights.
