Hello,
I have decided to flash my 16d4s 1071 dvd drive.
I had had a look in chipset, and there first two numbers is 05, so, that WINBOND, right? I have to drill hole or burn hole using soldering iron, yes?
I want to flash LT+ 3.0, but, can i power it with xbox and connect it using my PCMCIA sata card?
I was looking for some info, and some people says that i can get ban if i power dvd drive with xbox, and some says that i can power it without any problems. So, i'm little confused.
And can i use [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xLBV8nrl98c"]this[/ame] tutorial to unlock winbond using soldering iron?

Thanks for help,
Edmunds.

You can use the xbox as a power source but its far easier to use at least an Xecuter mini to power the drive thereby bypassing a potential flag for a ban. Not sure of a pcmia card via 6421 is the trusted sata port via pci card. Once you have drilled and written lt3 to your drive, you will still need an iHas drive to make your backups and run it through kprobe to test for quality. There are no guarantees mate.

it's not recommend to power your drive with the xbox.

and i'd advise you to get the right tools for the job,or get somebody to do it for you..

as it would work out cheaper for you in the long run.

you'll most likely fail doin the kamikazi..

Above is a far better guide to doing a winbond kamikaze hack. Written by our very RDUBBS007

First and formost, read your drive key first before even taking you drive apart, store, and save and back it up and keep it in a locked vault. Just be safe with it.

I think you will have problems with reading/writing with a PCMCIA Sata card.

Even Via6421a cards which work with most 360 drives have problems with slims.

If you want to avoid serious damage to your drive invest in a X360USB Pro 2. That way you have the exact chipset needed to read/write the drive and a power adapter built into one unit.

As to banning. Nothing is 100% safe. Not even LT3.0+, But as said above, rip your backups correctly, write them out with an ihas burner to 100% on Verbs 003 from singapore and you should have very few issues.

Personally i do not use a drill or a soldering iron. To much heat can ruin the chip. and a drill tends to be too fast for me.

I use a brand new stanley blade. Sharp point directly down, and 1/4 turn every 5 seconds, until i hear the beep. Remember also that the lines are very important
