flashing halted problem

OK so I installed my chip today and all seems to have went well, BUT when I went to flash the chip it came up "no BIOS update found Halting"!!!! Now I checked the website and it said that if it says this then I have the flash protection enabled now i know that i dont have it enabled on the switch as i have the switch set to on on off off off. SO I opened up my box and switched the switch on the chip itself and tried again but the same message came up again?!?!?!?!
Whats going on here??? Anybody know????

How are you trying to flash? disk or HTTP?

HTTP is by far the best way to do it.

I am trying to flash by disc as I havent set my PC and xbox to network yet.
One thing you might need to know is that I put the X3 BIOS onto a DVD (which the xbox always reads, as I used to put backup films onto this same make and watch them on my xbox) but I have made the dummy file only 100, if I made another one and made the dummy file larger (because the disc is larger in memory) would it make a difference???? If so what size would I make the dummy, 300???

100MB should be fine.

Burn it as an ISO no multisession per instructions.

name the dummy file 1dummy.bin
BIOS is called bios.bin.

Yeah got that sorted I had the jiolet box checked on the first disc I made *doh*
Now I have just got to figure out what all these options are

You mean X3ConfigLive?

Unless you want to customize the BIOS, you can leave as-is for now. Disable booting to X3CL (you can always boot while holding the white button for future access) if you just want to boot straight to your dashboard. Read the X2 N00b guide in my sig for help.
