flashing hdd light

why do some x3's hdd lights flash when in X3 Config Live, and others do not.
I have two modded xbox's and both are v1.0, one of them the hdd light flickers and the other does not, but both lights appear to flash when the hdd is searching for data.

Because i have two x3's, and one is performing different from the other in the same version box. I was wondering if i did something wrong or if something was wrong with one of the chips.

will updating the game while loading it to play mess up the online
