First of all im flashing a toshiba-samsung ms-28, (so im using the ms28 instructions)

Hi, Okay so i went into my bios and it says this

Boot device 1 Floppy Group
Boot device 2 Cd-Rom Group
Boot device 3 Networking Group
Boot device 4 Hdd Group

Floppy Group Boot Priority
Cdrom group Boot Priority [Sadisk Mini]
Hdd Group boot Priotiy [Maxtor 6l200mo]
Networking Group Boot Priority

I cant change the boot 2 to usb, there is no usb option.. And i figured because it says cd rom group= my sandisk that it would work..

So then i booted through the "cdrom group" and selected the sandisk mini

It brought me to dos, i typed in samread "my code" It says mtkflash my Joseph Lin (i think) then it said mtkflash folder already exists (twice) and all it showed was
1: IDE Sec Master
choose one drive :

Why isnt my via chipset 6421 showing up??

Please help im extremely frustrated ive had a terrible day

Do you have your on board sata enabled? If you have disable in the bios and make sure you plug the sata cable in the 'first' port. Try all of them.

Okay so i went into the bios. It shows NO onboard sata or onboard IDE, it only shows the SATA Adapter which is enabled and set to sata.. I also see something called I/O Configuration. Could that have relivancy?

I go to my computer, properties, hardware.. My sata chipset shows up just like it did in extreme bootmaker..

Plz help!!!

Did you check the correct boxes in XBM for your drive and chipset? Have you tried more than one port and more than one sata cable? Are you turning your 360 on as described in Textbooks tutorial?

Yes i have selected the via 6421 on XBM, No i have not tried using another sata cable because i only own one, Would that really make a difference? I suppose i can unplug my current dvd drive and use that sata port..

Any other idea why this is not working.. Im mainly worried that "usb" isnt an option in my bios...

With some people, the sata cable has been an issue. Also, unplug all drives currently on your sata controller. That may be an issue.

The usb thing shouldnt be an issue. If you're getting to dos, thats the main thing.

my bios didn't even need this setting.. it auto booted from my mp3player once which i found ackward, but not annoying..

so even if you disconnect EACH other drive other the the USB flashdrive, it should boot from that medium since it's the only on connected to the PC

Okay guys. I opened up my pc.. There are 2 sata ports on my pci sata card. I unplugged the hard drive from my computer to prevent flashing the wrong drive. Then i hooked up my sata cable to one of the 2 ports on the pci card. I booted into dos from my usb and typed in the commands.. Same response
Ide Sec Master
Choose one

So i tried the other port on the pci card
Same response... When i pressed to escape to try the command again it said the following under the big 360 logo

backup/1234567/12345/orig.bin Could not be found
backup/1234567/12345/orig.bin does not exist

Im following the instructions word for word but my chipset just wont show up.. Im operating with a via 6421A and a toshiba-samsung ms28.

Please help me, I have spent money on the card and cables in hopes of this working.

Help will be much appreciated
