Hi my last question was with help getting into mode b. I'm in mode-b now but need help flashing! Anyhow I'm flashing with Maximus-Garyopa_XTRM-HITACHI_v2_3_Stealth X-LG firmware. I "open command window here" on the X-LG folder and input "FLASH23S E 9999" E being my drive and the 9999 being the 4 required #'s. It begins the flashing sector 1/9 completes fine then it displays "Is the flashing Stable" then it gives me 3 possible reasons why the hitachi drive cannot be flashed. 1-close all programs 2-try rebooting and trying in safe mode. 3-maybe drive isn't in mode b. Well the drive is in mode b, i have closed all my programs and I tried safe mode with no luck. What am I doing wrong? I'm pretty sure I have the right firmware and am following the tutorial exactly. Any help would be appreciated! Thx :D :x

Try copying the X-LG folder to the C: drive and running it again there. Also, you need to use a different four digit number, you can't use 9999 again.

Next time you do it and it fails. Do not restart either machine.
When it fails you should type restore.bat and then let it complete. Once done redo Flash23S E 1234 again. Do not close out of the dos prompt window. Hitachi drives fake fail its almost like you need to double flash it.

Alright well I couldn't get that to work so I made a stupid stupid stupid mistake and flashed it with different firmware. I flashed it with Xtreme firmware for Hitachi v36 / v46 / v47 / v59 XBox 360 V1.1 Version 46 I thought would work with my drive. Anyhow that process completed fine So i go to turn on my 360 and I get a black screen with an E 64 System Error Contact Xbox Customer Support. My xbox 360 drive also will not open. I noticed that there is an orig.bin file that was created after I ran the firmware, but I cannot see my hitachi drive anymore under windows. So I'm real confused and my xbox doesn't work. Please help?

wrong firmware indeed.. i wonder why you flashed with different firmware, since that firmware you use is not even noted in the tutorial.. but yeah ofcourse you've got loads of experience

anyhow use the restore command after you have put the drive in b-mode... it'll reflash your drive to original (orig.bin)
if this won't work, you have messed up your hitachi drive.. you should be lucky you still have your orig.bin
