Flashing Hitachi 79 cd fails

Hi all,
I am able to follow the jungle flasher guide right through to where I want to dump the firmware from my Hitachi 79 drive but then it always fails.
It is in Mode B and windows does see the CD Drive and gives it a drive letter.
It goes through the unlock process fine, it just wont dump the firmware ?
I have tried various methods and searched for ages through google but nothing is working.
Any help would be appreciated.

what chipset are you using?

sometimes VIA card stop being able to flash hitachis

Hi, I am not sure it is the chipset although anythng is possible.
I have a computer that has an intel sata chipset and it will do everything except dump the firmware.
I do have more than one computer and have experienced the same problem on both.
I am wondering if there is some kind of lock on the drive that I don't know about.
It is running the latest dashboard,
- is that possible that there is anohter lock becuase it is running the latest dashboard ?
- guess i am fishing here as I have tried this so many times and looked at so many tutorials on how to do it.
I must admit I am new to XBoxes - this is my first so maybe there is something that I am missing.

Hi all,
well it seems that the sata chipset was the issue as I pulled out another computer and managed to mod the drive successfully.
Now because I am new to this a quick question,
Can I put this CD Rom drive into a Windows machine and then use Xbox Backup Creator to backup my games ?
